Our guift guide to celebrate Women-Led Wednesday!
Women-Led Wednesday (like Small Business Saturday) is a purpose-driven holiday that encourages the public to shop women-led businesses to support and uplift women in leadership. When we invest in women in business, more women become empowered to be leaders themselves. Thought leaders. Philanthropic leaders. And so much more.
When we support women entrepreneurs (as well as organizations like #WOMENLEDWEDNESDAY and legislation that supports women in business), we advance innovation, economic growth, and empower women financially. It not only benefits society from a social responsibility standpoint but as an investment in a vital portion of our economy.
So join us in this joyous of movements and shop Women-Led! See some of our favorite women-owned brands below, or see the whole list by visiting the Women-Led Wednesday website!
Women-Led Wednesday Gift Guide
Sea Hugger - Eco-Conscious Gifts
Sea Hugger® is a nonprofit organization focused on protecting and healing the marine environment from plastic pollution through action and education to drive systemic change that addresses the root cause of the issue.
You can support their cause by purchasing eco-conscious gifts from their shop! They have a wide range of reusable items, jewelry, home goods, and so much more! Perfect gifts for the eco-conscious person on your list (*should be everyone*).
We personally love the women behind Sea Hugger and believe in the important work they are doing...thanks Shell, Cass and team!
Skida - Headwear & Accessories
In the winter of 2008, Corinne Prevot picked up some patterned stretch fabrics at the May Store in Lyndonville, Vermont and made hats for her cross-country ski teammates and friends at Burke Mountain Academy. Soon the demand for her colorful hats grew, as did the variety of prints. As the buzz snowballed beyond the New England ski community, new products joined the line to keep everyone warm and colorful. Fourteen years later, the brand is still committed to local production, limited edition products, and a fresh perspective.
Skida’s mission is to bring people together, encourage play, generate smiles, and make a better place.
Corinne is an absolute joy to be around...and we're bummed we missed out on catching a mountain bike ride with her last time she was in town from Vermont, but we did sneak in a burrito meet up :) Till next time!
Lume Six - Sports Bras & Gift Boxes
We started Lume Six because we believe that women deserve better sports bras. We believe that being women-founded allows us to make the best decisions about our products to better serve women athletes and adventurers.
We make sports bras that are supportive, lightweight and comfortable.
Not sure about buying a sports bra for someone as a gift? No problem! We recently launched gift boxes for active women that include a gift card :)
Woosah - Spreading the Woosah
Woosah Outfitters is a naturally inspired art and apparel brand based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan that features the artwork of founder and owner, Erica Lang. The designs and drive behind Woosah revolve largely around woodcuts and the outdoors. Each design and product is hand crafted here in Grand Rapids in limited edition runs.
Woosah has a wide selection of items with their artwork...from calendars to blankets to games and so much more.
We collaborated with Rae and Woosah on the artwork for our gift boxes this year! We feel super stoked and grateful that we were put in touch and had the chance to meet!
Bivo - Stainless Steel Water Bottles
Bivo has created a stainless steel performance water bottle with a flow rate that keeps up with your hydration needs. No chugging, no air, no mold, just a clean path of water delivered with ease.
Say goodbye to the funky plastic water bottles by using these for all of your adventures!
Bivo is led by Carina who we met at Title Nine's Pitchfest and was a fellow winner this year!
SheFly - Pants to Answer Nature's Call
SheFly pants include a patented zipper design that will change your life next time you answer nature’s call outside. In addition to the regular zipper fly that allows you to take your pants on and off, a second zipper extends from beneath the first zipper to the back of the waistband. This design allows you to unzip only as far as you need to in order to maximize privacy on the trail, in the woods, or anywhere else nature may call.
We had the chance to get to know co-founders Georgia and Charlotte pretty well while we were in Gunnison, Colorado for the Moosejaw Outdoor Accelerator...She Fly had been part of the cohort the year prior! Thank you for welcoming us with open arms!
Celebrate Women-Led Wednesday!
Thank you for stopping by! On a personal note, support through purchases to a small business means LEAPS AND BOUNDS more to a real person than it does to a massive person. The human behind Lume Six truly feels fulfilled and happy to engage with people that come to us looking for a better sports bra and overjoyed when it turns out to be the right one. Thank you for supporting a small business and please consider doing so when you can with any of your purchasing decisions...and while you're at it, we believe women deserve better in many ways, not just their sports bras...so buying from a. woman-owned small business is two gold stars in our books :)
